What you do speaks so loudly that I cannot hear what you say.
Ralph Waldo Emerson (May 25 1803 – April 27, 1882) American essayist, lecturer, and poet, who led the Transcendentalist movement of the mid-19th century; champion of individualism.
Coaching Questions:
• How does my behaviour support my talk?
• How aligned is my work with who I am and what I believe?
• What can I do to become more authentic and merge the person I truly am with the person I need to be elsewhere?
You’ll free up a lot of energy and unconscious stress aligning all parts of yourself into your one authentic self.
As leaders, your influence undoubtedly grows when you are aligned in thought, word and deed. Inauthenticity is picked up unconsciously by people around you and they will act accordingly. If you are unable to bring all parts of yourself to work or if you have to be someone else at work, pause for thought. Perhaps it’s time to think about finding work – or better ways – that will allow you to operate on all cylinders, so increasing your effectiveness, productivity, job satisfaction and happiness.
